Vocation Promotion
It is the responsibility of every Christian to promote vocations to the Religious/missionary life and this work is shared collectively within the Christian Community. Thus, we welcome religious and people from all walks of life to actively participate in the work of promoting vocations.
The role of the Vocation Promoter is to keep in touch with the upcoming generation and to accompany those who feel drawn to follow Christ in this particular way of life. Through a process of discernment, the Vocation Promoter or Director helps potential candidates to discern their particular vocation. His guidance includes sharing the life and work of the Divine Word Missionaries and the nature of their vocation within the universal Church.
Our gaze, of course, is fixed on Jesus as the missionary par excellance, the one who transcends language, colour, social status and culture. To follow him within the shape of the Divine Word Missionaries requires great genoristy and a willingness to be a missionary wherever the need arises.
